Can you believe it's July?

Thanks to everyone who came out to see me at the Stanly County Farmer's Market this morning! It makes all the effort that is put into making bread worthwhile to see so many wonderful people enjoy the bread! Speaking of effort....when the day is set to bake , the starters(Ralph-rye, Wily-white, and Mutt-mixture) are pulled out of the fridge and the flour and spring water are added, and the building begins. This "feeding" or building is done twice a day for the next three days, on the morning of day 4, it is time to start mixing.
On a typical baking day, the mixing takes about two hours, meanwhile, outside the fire is being tended , so that the oven will be ready , when the bread is. Truly, Fair Meadow Bakes bread baking is a labor of love and good bread!
Thanks for your support, and visit us at Mt. Pleasant Farmer's Market on Tuesday beginning at 4:00pm.
